On Monday 23rd September the Ladies Fellowship plus guests set off for a trip on a narrowboat from Loughborough to Normanton on Soar.
We left the boatyard, on Symphony, about 10am and had a leisurely trip through Loughborough trying to pick out landmarks along the way whilst being served tea and coffee. Around midday we reached our destination at the Plough in Normanton on Soar where we all enjoyed our lunches. Following this we returned to our boat for the return trip to the boatyard. We had all enjoyed a relaxing day chatting, eating and enjoying each others company.
The boat trip was run by the Peter Le Marchant Trust who provide trips on waterways to disabled people. The boats are wheelchair friendly with a lift and the staff were most helpful providing a lovely day out and making it possible for our less able friends to join us too.
