Shepshed Baptist Church

Welcome to Visitors

Who are we?
Shepshed Baptist Church consists of a wide range of different people, from all ages and different backgrounds. Whoever you are you are assured a very warm welcome at Your Church.

When to arrive:
If it's your first visit then it's probably best to turn up around 9.45am. If you are driving then you'll be pleased to hear that there is some free parking in the church car park. For directions to reach us please see the
Find Us page. You'll be greeted on the door by one of our welcoming team who will give you some information about the church and notices of forthcoming events.

What to wear:
This is easy. Wear whatever you feel comfortable in. We are an informal church and accept people as they are. There is no need to dress up to try and be someone that you're not. Whether you come as a suited businessman or a freaked-out punk that is fine with us.

What to expect:
For some people going anywhere for the first time can be a bit of a nerve-racking experience. To help avoid any worries here's a quick summary of what you can expect at Shepshed Baptist Church. First of all we aren't super-spiritual beings, we all had a 'first day' at church, you'll find we are a friendly bunch, if you don't understand something please simply ask. We start our services at 10.00am with notices on the screen before the service keeping us informed of diary dates etc. There are no evening services at present.

Our worship time consists of a mix of modern songs with some older hymns and the words are projected onto a screen using Audio Visual. Everyone participates in the worship. Our Pastor then ministers to us from the Bible. We celebrate Communion on the third Sunday morning of the month unless advised otherwise. The service lasts approximately an hour and a quarter. Tea/coffee and biscuits (sometimes cake) are served every week after morning services.

Our aim is that whether you are just looking into Christianity for the first time or have been a Christian for many years that you should be encouraged and inspired by the services. We hope that everyone will draw closer to God.

What we believe:
We are a Christian church and believe that all can have relationship with God. We believe this relationship with God is possible because of Jesus (God's only son) who invites us to follow him. We have friendly relationships with other local churches from both traditional and modern backgrounds and are involved with CTIS (Churches Together in Shepshed). If you are interested in exploring the Christian faith then please come along on a Sunday or contact the church office (07792 895112) to ask for a free booklet.

Is it just Sundays?
Absolutely not! God is with us all week long and we aim to lead lives pleasing to him. We're not perfect and we do make mistakes, but we desire to make a positive difference in everything we do. To further encourage us on Tuesdays we have a Bible Study group  meeting on Zoom. There are no house groups at the present.

For those with disabilities:
We aim to be an all-inclusive church. If you wish to discuss specific needs please contact the church office. Our premises are accessible for those with disabilities with both the kitchen and toilets accessible. We do have a loop for the hearing impaired and in 2015 the installation of a lift to our upper hall was completed.
