As with most churches a lot of the fellowship has other interests outside the church and recently a small group of our men have rekindled their interest in heritage railways.
Conveniently, of course, Shepshed is only about 10 minutes drive from the Great Central Railway, based at Loughborough, who run preserved steam and diesel hauled trains down to Leicester and back via Quorn and Rothley.
They recently attended the Great Central’s Winter Gala and based themselves at Quorn where they enjoyed watching a variety of locomotives and trains go by, together with taking the opportunity to take some video and photographs as well.
It was a very cold morning that day and as you can see in the photograph they wrapped themselves up warmly against the cold. From left to right they are Barry, Brian, Bob and Malcolm.
No doubt further outings will take place in due course.
