Pete and Edi 2012
May 2012
Hello again.
Thank you for remembering us.
1. Edi and Joanna will go to Tokyo this month for Joanna to take her IGCSE exams in English at the British Council. The exams are on 10th May and 15th May. We are looking into whether travelling up and back twice, or staying in Tokyo in between, will be the better option. Please pray for Joanna taking these exams.
2. Ron and Yoshimi are settling in to working in Kaori Church. Jocelyn is in New Zealand for another month.
3. For the beginners' Bible study on 8th May we have a visitor, Mrs. Naito from one of our churches in Kyoto, coming. Please pray for a helpful time for our church ladies as they hear from a mature Christian woman from another church.
4. Pete will be going to preach at Rakusai New Town Church in Kyoto again this month, on 20th May. Please pray for his message.
5. After church on 27th May we have a visit from the fire brigade to give some instruction on what to do in a fire or earthquake. Please pray that this will be a useful time for everyone.
6. We now have just three new workers on full-time language study, but with possibly several more on the way.
7. Please pray for our children. Joanna and Andy are in the volleyball club at their school, and John has joined the handball club attached to his school.
Thank you for praying.

April 2012
Hello again.
Thank you for praying for us, and for Kaori Church in Japan.
1. Ron and Yoshimi Caseley joined the Kaori team at the beginning of April. Please pray for them as they settle in, and for God's blessing on their work in Kaori.
2. For Easter we are showing a film (Ben Hur) in the church on Good Friday (6th April), having an Easter Family Service on Sun. 1st and an Easter Service on Sun. 8th. We will also be having a special prayer time for the church children at the church on that day, as they start a new academic year and some change schools.
3. Pastor Matsubara is one of the Japanese workers in our church group. He retired at the end of March, but will come to Kaori to preach on Sun. 22nd April. For the next year he will come every month on the fourth Sunday.
4. Also on Sun. 22nd April we will have our Easter Picnic at a park nearby. Please pray for good weather and good fellowship.
5. Mrs Ito was one of the very first people to come to the church meetings in 1999, but never became a Christian. However, she made a decision and was baptised in America in February. Mrs Teramori, who was baptised in September, recently led the prayer time in the service for the first time. We thank the Lord for His working and pray for the growth of these ladies.
Thank you for praying.

March 2012
Hello again. Thank you for remembering us.
1. Jocelyn left for New Zealand on 29th February, for a three-month break. Please pray for her to have a blessed time in New Zealand.
2. Thank you for praying for the church annual business meeting on 14th February. It went well, and Mrs. Furuya and Mrs. Urabe agreed to take over the job of church treasurer while Jocelyn is away. Pete is particularly glad about this as he has always done this job before in Jocelyn's absences, but it's a job he does not enjoy. It is possible they may continue after Jocelyn comes back.
3. Mrs. Yoshinaga has been coming to our services since November. She is from Hong Kong, married to a Japanese. Please pray for her salvation.
4. On Sunday 11th Pete will be "swapping pulpits" with Jurgen Gaub, i.e. Jurgen preaches in Kaori and Pete preaches in Kusatsu.
5. Other things happening in March are: the annual business meeting of the WEC churches on 20th March (public holiday), and the annual "retreat" for the WEC missionaries and Japanese pastors on 27th-28th March. Also, there are three new missionaries coming in March, all from Hong Kong, one couple and one single woman. The couple already speak Japanese, but Pete will go with the single woman to enroll at language school in Kyoto.
Thank you for praying.
