Judith comes from Peacehaven near Brighton, where her mother still lives. She also has family in Ipswich.
A teacher, she trained at Loughborough University and enjoyed living in the area so much she decided to to make her home there. For 16 years she taught at a large secondary school in Melton Mowbray and then was a senior manager in a school in Syston, Leicestershire.
Judith, whose birthday is on 30th March, enjoys football, motorbikes, gardening, reading Christian books and listening to worship tapes.
She first went to Nepal in July 2000 as a BMS volunteer, based at KISC (Kathmandu International Study Centre) where she taught, helped with administration and covered when the Vice-Principal was on leave.
In 2001 she was accepted by BMS World Mission for full-time service and after a short period of study returned to Nepal. Appointed as Vice-Principal of KISC she also taught Religious Studies. KISC was originally set up for the children of mission personnel though non-mission children also attend. In 2003 there were 90 students who came from a variety of countries.
Judith is now the Director of KISC in Patan. The school caters mainly for the education of ex-patriate mission families and this is evident in the wide ranging nationalities of the students represented at KISC.
The standard of teaching is very high as is shown in the Cambridge International examination results. It is a very happy school with excellent values and wide ranging extra-curicular activities, such as music, drama and sport.
The staff are from all over the world and provide Christ-centred quality education. There are three areas of work at KISC - the primary and the secondary departments and a teacher training programme for local Nepalese schools to raise the level of education in the country. In some areas less than 15% of teachers are trained.
