Churches Together in Shepshed recently held their annual holiday club at Charnwood Road Baptist Church.
80 children ranging in age from 5 to 13 took part in the week’s activities with Nicole Jordon and Emma Glover leading each morning and drama being provided by Adrian and Rebecca Dobson, Alison and Howard Ketton and Dan Frost.
The technical crew were Oliver Dixon and John Halford and the lively music was provided by David Spendlove on the keyboard.
Also there were others in the background taking care of security, refreshments and filming. The theme of the week was the life of Saint Paul and his journeys and adventures. Activities were based on the Olympics and there were races, drama, games and songs and of course there could not be a holiday club without children and helpers getting very wet. Everyone had received a gold medal by the end of the week.
Lots of crafts and food activities took place in three groups during the morning, together with bible stories with a hardworking band of leaders and helpers.
The week ended with a barbecue in the manse garden on the Saturday evening when 160 parents, grandparents, children and holiday club staff enjoyed good fellowship, lovely weather and delicious food cooked by Kenny Henry and Keith Miller.
None of this could have taken place without all the admin being sorted out by Lee and Allan Scott before and during the week, Another very successful holiday club - all that remains is to start planning for next year!
