Retirement of Captain Beverley March 2013 Howard presenting award to Beverley

Captain Beverley and helperCynthia Bowley On Mothering Sunday Charnwood Road Baptist Church in Shepshed, Leicestershire said a huge thank you to Captain Beverley Sutton on her retirement after 32 years service with the 2nd Shepshed Girls Brigade.

Our Pastor, Rev. Howard Ketton, awarded Beverley with an engraved cut-glass trophy, a beautiful bouquet of flowers and an envelope containing a long weekend break for two in the UK.

The girls of 2nd Shepshed attended the church service and everyone in the congregation gave an ovation to Beverley for her long commitment and generosity.

Beverley will always be remembered for her quietly spoken voice, gentle and unassuming manner and her calming effect on the girls.

Also, for the past 25 years Cynthia Bowley supported Beverley at the Girls Brigade as a Helper, and each Friday evening they ran the Girls Brigade together.  At one time there were 25 girl members.  But now Cynthia has retired also and the two of them are taking a well earned rest.

Captain Rachael Lukavec has agreed to take on the leadership with the help of Lieutenant Caroline Harrington and helpers; Jean Allan, Nicola Davies, Emma Glover, Teresa Hampson and Andrea Roper.
